DR. JACK KAVANAUGH AND HIS JOURNEY TOWARDS SUCCESS

Nagging about the failures brings more of it while working to overcome it delivers a better outcome. One such thing happened with Dr. Jack Kavanaugh and the way he dealt with it brought a different result altogether. Here goes the intriguing story of his amazing comeback after a turning point in his life.

Once touching the heights in the field of dentistry, Dr. Jack Kavanaugh met with an unfortunate accident. It broke his leg and neck, ultimately stopping him from practicing dentistry. However, this didn’t dissuade him and he made another beginning. He went to the University of California, Los Angeles to get his MBA degree and then worked in Mergers and acquisitions. In the year 1984, he co-formed the International Strategy Consulting Group.

Even though he had his career settled in private equity, his zeal to learn powered his steps towards medical sciences and he went to the University of Southern California to do his M.D. degree. He completed his surgical residency from Jules Stein Institute, U.C.L.A. After this, he remained a visiting professor there.

In the first year of his residency, he launched Amerident, a health care service provider. Apart from over 30 community service awards, the amenities offered fetched the firm with a state congressional medal of honor.  

In the year 2000, he conducted the first board meeting for Calhoun Vision, Inc. at his home. This biotechnology firm developed the first light adjustable intraocular lens to be used for cataract surgery. From the year 2000, he served as the board member and as Chairman from the year 2008 till 2012. 

His proficiency in handling businesses can be proved with several records he has created, one of which is of Tech Team (later Team Global). Under his direction, the price of the share rose from 11 cents to $27 each. To add to his record comes a major turnaround he gave to PreCash, a company that offers telecommunication and financial services. Within a couple of years of Kavanaugh staving off its insolvency, the firm was counted among the booming companies of the U.S. in terms of profit.

In the year 2008, he founded ZetaRx Biosciences, Inc, a leading company for immunotherapy for treating cancer. He handled the posts of CEO and Chairman till June 2012. However, he stayed as the consultant to the board. The firm was sold in late 2013 and became a crucial part of Juno Therapeutics. He is also the co-founder of Novonvo Therapeutics, a company leading in epigenetics and other therapeutic research. 

Jack Kavanaugh has continuously developed records in different platforms including dentistry, ophthalmology, cancer therapeutics, and businesses. He is also a part of several charitable institutions and is presenting his services in every possible way.

  Dr. Jack Kavanaugh, an MBA, an MD, a founder, a chairman, a business leader, and what not, started his career as a dentist to finally being a great businessman.
