Dr. Jack Kavanaugh went on to lead fundraising for the company as it commercialized Grubbs’ technology to produce state-of-the art resins and metathesis catalysts. The company has licensed Nobel-prize-winning technology to create resins and catalysts for industrial use. Materia, Inc. holds more than 300 patents and is instrumental in the production of over 100 pharmaceutical products.  In each of companies Jack has worked he either founded the company or sat on the board played a major role in their development. In 2000, Jack Kavanaugh held the first board meeting of Calhoun Vision, Inc. a biotechnology firm that developed the world’s first and only light adjustable intraocular lens for cataract surgery, at his home.  Its industry leading and disruptive product has completed all 600 patients in US Phase III (the final) clinical trials. Dr. Jack Kavanaugh was also a board member of Precash. He helped the company to lead a major turnaround. Two years later PreCash were rated by Inc.
