DR. KAVANAUGH AND HIS INSPIRING JOURNEY
As life is filled with ups and
downs, it is the reaction that makes the difference. Success and failures are
parts of the same coin, every moment of failure is an opportunity to start
over. If there is no fall, how will a person rise? With similar falls Jack
Kavanaugh, a renowned doctor, and a businessman has an inspiring story.
Jack Kavanaugh has spent a decade
pursuing his career as a dentist. Unfortunately, he met with an accident that
stopped him from continuing dentistry, but it didn’t shatter his attitude
towards life. He went to the University of California, Los Angeles to earn his
M.B.A. degree after which, he worked with a former partner and they formed an
M.B.A. consulting firm, International Strategy Consulting Group, in 1984.
Despite making a career in the private equity, Jack Kavanaugh
initiated his steps towards his M.D. degree from the University of Southern
California and his surgical residency from Jules Stein Institute, U.C.L.A. Till
2008, he served as a part-time visiting professor educating the eye surgery at
the University of Southern California. While he was in the first year of his
residency, he founded Amerident, a provider for health care service which was
honored with over 30 awards in community service. It was also bestowed with a
state congressional medal of honor for their work with infants as well.
In 1999, he founded a computer support and hosting company, Tech
Team, where he was appointed as the CEO and Chairman as well till the last
month of his residency. Since 2000, he served as a member of the board for a
biotechnology firm, Calhoun Vision, Inc. and as Chairman from 2008 to 2012.
In 2008, he founded ZetaRx Biosciences, Inc., the firm at the
cutting edge of immunotherapy. He held the posts of both Chairman and CEO till
June 2012 and then continued as a consultant for the board. He is also a co-founder
of Novonco Therapeutics, Inc., a company that focuses on cancer
therapeutics. He has also co-founded
Super Metalix, Inc., and Nanotech Energy, Inc.
