Jack Kavanaugh: Reputed Doctor, Businessmen & Versatile Personality
An M.D, D.D.s, M.B.A, C.E.O, Jack Kavanaugh, is a well-known doctor and business leader in the
medical field. He has helped numerous technologies and health-related
organizations to commercialize their business worldwide and has created and led
companies like Calhoun Vision to create next-generation medical treatment.
Jack started his carrier as a successful dentist.
He met with an accident and broke his neck and shattered his leg, which
prevented him from practicing dentistry again. This misfortune incident in his
life became a turning point, as he went on to earn his M.B.A from U.C.L.A and
worked with his former managing/senior partner at McKenzie International. In
1984, they founded the International Strategy Consulting Group, a management
and M.B.A consulting firm.
Kavanaugh continued his carrier in private
equity; from here on, he again turned towards his medical field. He got his M.D
degree from U.S.C and completed his surgical internship at U.C.L.A’s Jules
Stein Institute. He remained a visiting professor at U.C.L.A and taught eye surgery
to fellow residents till 2008. He founded Amerident, a healthcare service
center during his first year of residency that was honored with more than 30
community services awards and state Congressional Medal of Honor for their work
with the infants.
As Kavanaugh’s carrier continued in private
organization, he held Calhoun Vision’s first board meeting, which is a
biotechnological organization that has developed a light adjustable lens used
for cataract surgery. He served as a board member from 2000, later he was
appointed as the chairman, from 2008 to 2012.
Dr. Jack has also worked with the board of
PreCash, a telecommunication and financial service organization. In 2001, he
turned away the insolvency proceeding and engineered a major turnaround. Two
years later, Inc. Magazine declared PreCash as one of the fastest-growing
companies of the United State of America.
In 2008, Dr. Jack Javanaugh founded ZetaRx Bioscience, Inc., an
organization at the leading edge of immunotherapy for the treatment of cancer.
He led this company as Chairman and CEO both till the end of June 2012 and
remains a consultant to the Board. Zetex Company was sold out in the year 2013,
to Juno Therapeutic which became its core components. In 2014, Juno
Therapeutics was declared as the largest biotech IPO of the year by reaching a
market cap of $ 5.5 billion.
